Toronto Considers Full Casino At Woodbine

Mayor David Miller continues to review his options when it comes to getting Toronto out of its 575-million dollar budget deficit.

The latest option includes the city rolling the dice on a full casino for Toronto.

Miller and several city councilors are considering the idea.

With a massive 750-million dollar development approved for Woodbine Race Track, that’s the location being considered.

The new project will house a hotel and skating rink and has enough room to house a full casino.

The problem however, is getting politicians at Queens Park to support the initiative, and issue a license.

The province is concerned a Toronto casino would kill business at four existing casinos in Ontario.

But with a potential budget short fall of 575-million dollars next year, Miller isn’t opposed to seeing Woodbine turned into a full gaming house pending Toronto sees a good portion of the revenue.
